Walk in Spiritual Authority

Walk in Authority Given

Nothing shall harm you.

WALKING IN OUR SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY AS DISCIPLES OF CHRIST JESUS

In Luke 10:19 Jesus told us, Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

WHAT SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY IS

The authority that Jesus is talking about in Luke 10:19 is not brute force power. It’s a delegated power that allows us to stand confident and secure in His love, His Truth and His Power.

When a policeman steps out in front of traffic and holds up his hand to stop it, he’s not stopping cars and trucks with his own brute strength – he’s stopping them with the delegated authority that comes from wearing the uniform. He’s backed by the law.

That’s the authority we have in Christ.

We are not stopping the forces of darkness (sickness, fear, evil, lack) with our own strength – but standing in prayerful authority given by God in Christ. So we can powerfully pray and be backed by all the power of God.

God Almighty Himself is the power behind our spiritual authority! Ephesians 6:10 says, Be strong in the Lord and the power of HIS might. That means you can step out in front of the devil, hold up your hand and say no, backed by the power of God’s might.

AUTHORITY BELONGS TO US

The Bible says we are body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27). Jesus is the Head, we are the Body -- and His authority is perpetuated through the Body. When Jesus rose from the dead, He transferred His authority on earth to His Body, the Church. In God’s mind, when Christ was raised, we were raised.

Ephesians 2:6 says that God “raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” Both the Head and the Body are seated there, next to God, in the place of power and authority. That means we are seated there. That means that everything that’s His -- including His authority -- now belongs to you and me.

Take a moment and sit up in your chair, or wherever you are reading this and feel in your body posture and heart posture and mind posture, you are a woman who walks in spiritual authority through Christ.

How does that feel for you?

HOW TO USE HIS AUTHORITY AND STAND IN AUTHORITY

Due to old conditioning and old ways of being, you might not feel like you are able to stand in the authority that has been given to you.

You might hold some hang-ups about it, and feel unworthy, unready, and unprepared. But the good news is that you won’t have to do the standing yourself. You can pray to the Holy Spirit to fill you more, and as you embrace deep healing and deliverance, all of the hinderances inside of you that aim to block you from walking in God’s authority can and will be cast out.

I encourage you let yourself simply stand tall, and then let God’s strength pour into you.
Literally stand tall. Then, let God POUR HIS STRENGTH INTO YOU.

Psalm 46:1-3 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Another scripture to support you is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

So be deeply and enduringly encouraged by Gods presence and power that will move through you, when you offer yourself as a vessel of His power and presence, and call upon Him so that He may move through you.

When you first begin to stand in His authority it may feel awkward and strange. Don’t give up. Take the time to practice standing firm in His Authority that He has freely given to you for saying yes to Him and His salvation. You may be more accustomed to being silent, small, quiet and people pleasing, but that’s the OLD YOU!

You are now a new creation in Christ and the more you let Him heal you, you will stand with His Authority moving through you, with more and more ease each day.

  • Let yourself be changed.

  • Let yourself be transformed.

  • Let yourself be elevated in His Glory, to Glorify Him!

  • He will mightily use you, if you let Him train your fingers for the battle. (Psalm 144)

A prayer for you today

Heavenly Father,
I come before you today thanking you for the spiritual authority you have blessed me with. I lay my life at your feet and I humbly ask that you train my fingers for the battle. I want to be a warrior for you, Christ Jesus. I am ready to stand confidently in spiritual authority, never backing down against the enemy, but to stand in the power, love and self-control that you have given me. I humbly accept this authority and magnify your name as I do so. You have saved me. You have given me new life. Hallelujah! You make a road through every wilderness and you equip me. Jesus Christ, I praise your name! Because of you I shall never be afraid. You subdue all enemy forces underneath my feet. I stand tall, and gratefully receive the strength you provide for me to walk through every storm with grace, integrity and the wisdom from heaven above.
In your name I pray, Jesus Christ, Amen.
