HOW JESUS HEALS THE FRAGMENTED SOUL

The Fragmented Soul:
how Healing happens with Jesus Christ

Many people struggle with brokenness, fear, anxiety, depression, doubt, insecurity, dysfunction, addiction, chronic illness and inner pain they cannot fully explain. Many are numbed out and do not know who they are because they are not in relationship with the one who made them. God sees the souls who are lost. God sees the souls who are hurting. God sees the souls who have struggled their whole lives. God sees the souls who are afraid, lonely and without safe family. God sees the children who are confused, and the parents who struggle to parent their children because they didn’t have healthy and whole parents to raise them.

He sees souls searching for healing, hope, and for new life. He sees the pain and suffering. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to set us all free. When I gave my life to Jesus Christ, miracles of healing began in my life. I pray this for you, too.

Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

The truth is this: JESUS CHRIST is the only one who heals and sets souls free.

Scripture tells us that Jesus “came to heal the brokenhearted.” I testify that this is true.
To understand this most beautiful promise of the LORD, let’s talk about what it means to have a broken—or fragmented—soul.

What Is a Fragmented Soul?

A fragmented soul is a soul that has been harmed through trauma, sin, deception and the enemy, whose agenda is to kill, steal and destroy. This harm happens through trauma of all kinds, sin, and deception. When the Bible speaks of a “broken heart,” the original meaning points to something shattered—a soul broken into many pieces. The fragmented soul is often confused, numbed out, and lost. It is common for us all to pretend we are not fragmented, and to put on a facade or a mask to survive. But God does not want anyone to live this way. He wants to be the one to heal and restore us all.

A fragmented soul does not know their true identity as God created.

Trauma, especially repeated or unresolved trauma, fractures the soul. Painful experiences, particularly those occurring in childhood or over long periods of time, can cause parts of a person’s inner life to become “stuck.” Though life moves forward, certain areas of the soul may remain frozen in pain, fear, immaturity, or confusion. These broken places often become hidden—buried deep in memory—yet they still influence thinking, feeling, relating, responding and perceiving.

In the world this may be labeled as dissociative disorders. Scripture calls it brokenheartedness—and Jesus is the healer of it all.

For years, I tried to heal myself without Jesus Christ. Only When I let Jesus Christ into my heart and life did lasting healing take place.

Why the Enemy Targets the Soul

The enemy’s goal has always been to steal, kill, and destroy.

One of the most effective ways he does this is by fragmenting the soul. Psalm 31:4 says, “You take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge.” We know from this verse that nets are set by the enemy. Trauma is a trap, a snare, a net. Psalm 124:7 says, “We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped!” Jesus heals through His love and His power to break the snare that is set out to trap souls. “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

That is why in God’s Word it says that “For whom the Son sets free is free indeed.”

If the enemy can trap a portion of a person’s inner life in pain or deception, he can influence their behavior, relationships, and spiritual growth. He can also deceive them into falling for the schemes found in the occult.

The Bible speaks of souls being trapped or snared (see Ezekiel 13:18–20). Hidden things—occult influences, trauma, or unresolved wounds—can quietly operate beneath the surface. What remains hidden continues to harm. Deceptions in “healing” can also ensnare, creating a web that seems to offer the promise of healing, but it actually keeps one looping. I have experienced this! It is a deception that is very dangerous. That is why Scripture calls for veils to be lifted and eyes to be opened.

Jesus Christ, however, is the true SAVIOR & SHEPHERD of our souls (1 Peter 2:25). But until we give our life fully to Jesus Christ, the veil of deception has not been lifted. Our choice to give our life to Jesus Christ is the most important choice we can ever make.

When the Past Is Not Really Past

Have you ever heard someone say the phrase, “Just leave the past behind.” I heard many people say that to me, but there was absolutely no way I could heal and live God’s intended life for me without the healing of my past by Jesus Christ.

The past is not truly in the past if it keeps resurfacing—consciously or subconsciously—in our lives.

Patterns of dysfunction, emotional overreactions, bitterness, chronic discouragement, or repeated setbacks can be indicators that something deeper is still unresolved. Many believers ask, “Why do I love God, yet my life still feels so broken?”

Salvation is instant, but deep healing is often a process. Being saved does not automatically remove every wound, trauma, or unhealthy pattern. Many need to experience the deep love of Jesus within the woundings, learning how to build an intimate relationship with the LORD through the healing season. As you embrace a season of deep healing with Jesus, He will walk you through the restoration journey so you can be set free from the trauma and the traps it created. For those who have been involved in the occult, deliverance is absolutely necessary. Jesus provides healing and deliverance, and when we go to Him and ask for this healing and deliverance, He provides.

Healing Requires Pressing In

God does not heal by magic, by positive thinking, by ceremonies, by practices or by shortcuts. Healing is a provision already paid for through the suffering of Christ, but we are called to accept it and pursue it. Scripture tells us that “the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” This does not mean God withholds healing—it means the enemy resists it. Once you are born again by the Holy Spirit, you are saved. A journey of healing and restoration begins, whereby your identity and spiritual authority is revealed. God equips each soul after salvation.

Like the woman with the issue of blood, we must press past obstacles, discouragement, and delay. Too often, people stop short of breakthrough. God invites us to keep pressing, trusting that healing is our bread as children of God. Your spiritual authority given to you by Jesus Christ is needed, and you must stand firm for this and take back what the enemy stole from you.

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit in Soul Healing

The Holy Spirit is uniquely qualified to heal trauma because He searches the heart completely. He can look both backward and forward—revealing hidden wounds while guiding you into wholeness.

When past pain goes unaddressed, a hardening of our hearts usually happens. Walls are built through bitterness, rejection, fear, or pride. From that point on, life is filtered through those walls. Reactions become patterns, and patterns become prisons. God breaks us out of this prison. “Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name.” (Psalm 142:7)

The Holy Spirit gently invites us to pray and ask Him this:

“Holy Spirit, show me where my soul has been broken.”

When we ask sincerely, He will answer. When your soul is ready, He will bring memories to the surface for the healing. What was buried is not exposed for shame, but for His full healing and restoration. Praise the LORD, He is faithful in doing this restorative work inside of us!

Healing the Broken Places

When a broken area of the soul is touched by Christ, it is reintegrated into wholeness. As you receive this healing, you will most likely feel as if piece by piece, your soul blossoms on a new foundation. A foundation that is secure. Many feel a great heaviness has been lifted, and a great relief ~ like a breath of fresh air!

His Healing allows growth to resume where it once stopped, and this is how Jesus leads our souls out of brokenness, and into wholeness and freedom. Set free from fear and shame, too.

The Bible says, “Bring my soul out of prison” (Psalm 142:7). If Scripture speaks of a prison, it means captivity is possible—but so is God’s release from this awful prison!!

Why Wholeness Matters

God desires His people to walk in wholeness. A healed soul can run the race set before it. An unhealed soul is hindered, exhausted, and often discouraged. But Jesus Christ did not die on the cross for us to walk in brokenness! He died to set us free and to live in the promises of the LORD.

Jesus did not only come to save us—He came to heal and deliver us. He paid the price for our healing, and now we are invited to partner with Him by seeking for it, believing in it, and receiving it. Please consider turning to the LORD if you have not already. If you have turned to the LORD, you may benefit greatly from inner healing and deliverance support. On my journey, I needed a lot of support. After 47 years of relational trauma and 14 years in the occult, it was necessary for me to go through a focused season of embracing deep restoration. There is support out there for you. You do not have to walk this journey of healing and deliverance alone.

If you would like to learn more, I am happy to meet with you during a free 1-hour consult. Here you can ask me questions, and I can share with you how the ministry of inner healing and deliverance can support you. My ministry is by donation.
