Time to Uproot
When God Uproots
So he can fully install his truth, wisdom and foundation
Have you ever experienced a complete upheaval in life?
I have, and I have experienced many!
Roots being violently torn and ripped up and out?
Everything breaking down, stalling out, and it seems impossible?
The foundation you thought you were on, now absolutely gone!
No money coming in, relationships awry, fiery darts being thrown at you, and the vision God put on your heart is just not happening like you thought it would by now.
You are not alone!
Maybe you are exhausted, defeated or wondering what is going on here?
I want to share some things I have learned with you, and I pray that it might support you today.
The emotional toil it can take can be tiresome, but I have experienced that God is right there with us and He is preparing us.
The heartbreak may be tough to deal with, but I have experienced that bringing all the pain to God and asking Him, “what are you teaching me right now?” is a very valuable question with revelatory answers from Heaven above!
The betrayal might be cutting, but God will use that suffering to help you heal, grow and rise anew into healed wholeness and learn how to forgive with all sincerity from your precious heart and soul.
So don’t fret!
I have learned that in my experiences, that God is doing a deep preparation inside of us when this happens.
As you sit with the pain, give it to God, and you are ready to surrender IT ALL to God,
He will carry you through to the other side.
The uprooting of fear, doubt, anger, unbelief, despair, broken heartedness, bitter roots of resentment and un-forgiveness are now being uprooted and to never come back again!
Because where you are going, you cannot be carrying all that with you.
God needs to reveal it, to heal it and set you free from it!
There are definitely seasons in our walk with God when everything that once felt familiar, comfortable, and compulsory begins to break and shake.
When walking narrow with the LORD, there will be a shaking, there will be an UPROOTING AND NEW FRUIT WILL BLOSSOM.
You may find yourself in situations that are pure testing grounds. Relationships change, structures fall, comforts are removed, and what you leaned on no longer holds you. In these moments and sometimes long seasons, it can be confusing—and deeply painful—but Scripture reminds us that shaking and uprooting can be a divine deliverance AND EVENTUAL REBUILDING.
God wants us to know that “the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted from it.”
(Proverbs 2:22). God’s Words are real.
To be uprooted means to be completely removed or displaced from a foundation. Biblically, uprooting often symbolizes God’s judgment against evil systems, lies, faulty and unholy foundations, and sin—and it also represents necessary personal transformation.
What God uproots, He does so not to harm us, BUT TO FREE US!
The uprooting I have experienced in my faith walk has not been comfortable. It is downright uncomfortable. I remember once saying to the Lord, “this is really not fun at all, God!” I was on my knees in total tears, crying, yelling out to God after hours of expressing all of my emotions and feelings to Him. I have learned that these times call for our complete honesty and vulnerability. No more hiding. No more pretending. No more keeping it all together in any way shape or form!
Just pure surrender and trusting in Him. Even though we might be terrified and in the natural realm it looks ridiculous!
It may involve the tearing down of what is unhealthy, unholy, or not aligned with God’s righteous plumb line. Yet this tearing down is never random or cruel. It is precise, purposeful, and deeply loving. God shakes what can be shaken, so that what is unshakable may remain (Hebrews 12:26–27).
In His mercy, He removes what keeps us bound so we can finally be reached, healed, and restored by Him. There will be a brand new foundation that He installs for you, and on that new foundation for your life will be good soil from which to build and grow with. And a testimony that will help others when they get to a difficult spot on their faith walk.
God shook the faulty foundations in my life before I knew Him, to try and get my attention. For years, I did not hear Him calling. I was focused on myself. “I called to you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention” (Proverbs 1:24).
Jesus Himself taught that fruitfulness requires surrender and death to old ways. “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (John 12:24). Like a seed buried in the soil, God’s uprooting often feels like loss, but it is actually the beginning of new life. There must be a spiritual death to bear fruit that remains—and that kind of fruit only grows in the soil of righteousness.
God’s uprooting is an act of radical love. I have learned that He loves me and you so much, that He not only sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross, but He also comes for us to set us a part. You just might not know how He is going to actually bring you to your knees to show you how special and set a part you really are. You might feel like you do not belong. Like there is something seriously wrong with you. Or that you will never experience anything better or different. But in my experience, you can truly trust that God will carry you through the really hard times - each and every time - no matter what it is - and He will not let you go or abandon you in the pit forever.
He removes us from places of false safety, false attachments, and misplaced identity. He sets us free from counterfeit peace, and worldly ways of believing and acting, feeling and thinking. He delivers us from dysfunction, un-forgiveness, bitterness, resentment, unworthiness, feeling like we are of no value, and the lies that make us believe that God won’t come through for us (and that He does it for everyone else…) They must come up and out for Him to expose that those roots are there, and then He uproots them - every stronghold that is not aligned with His truth and then He replaces with His Way, His Truth, and His Life for us.
He separates us from comfort zones that often keep us from becoming who He created us to be. This may include relationships that enable dysfunction, webs of lies that keep us from realizing His Truth, belief systems rooted in deception, or patterns formed through trauma and survival rather than His truth and freedom.
If you are in this season, you are not alone. There is nothing wrong with you, God just wants to equip you and prepare you.. God disciplines and prunes those He loves, and He does this with Great Love.
It’s important that you let yourself experience God’s Love Deeply during an uprooting season.
He will help you come to Him alone, so you can receive this Love.
Scripture tells us plainly: “There is a time to uproot and a time to plant” (Ecclesiastes 3:2).
God’s uprooting always precedes God’s planting. God never leaves the soil empty. When He removes what is not of Him, He prepares the ground to plant righteousness, peace, healing, wholeness, and divine purpose.
He replaces Confusion with Clarity.
Bondage with Freedom.
Striving with Rest and Trust in Him.
Sadness for His Purposes.
Pity with His Amazing Promises!
If you find yourself in a season where God is uprooting your life, you are safe to be uprooted. He is not abandoning you—He is pruning you and your life so you can walk narrow on His Path. He is laying a new foundation, one that cannot be shaken. “See, I am doing a new thing; now it springs up—do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). What He is planting will be healthier, holier, and more aligned with His heart than anything that came before. This is for the Kingdom of God. Your surrender to this process will give birth to God’s Goodness for the generations to come. I want to encourage you to stay in God’s presence. Do not leave God. He won’t leave you. During uprooting, cling to Him. You need Him in every way, every day, moment by moment. Here you will come to know what dependence on God truly means - and this builds a solid foundation of trust in Him.

⚖️ God works according to His righteous plumb line, tearing down what is unrighteous to build what is good and true.
🌾 Uprooting always comes before planting—God never leaves the soil of our lives empty.
🕊️ Seasons of uprooting are invitations to trust the Master Gardener and lean into His healing, restoration and specific path.
🌸 What God plants after uprooting is stronger, purer, and more life-giving than what was removed.
Father God,
I come before You with a thankful heart, acknowledging that You are the Master Gardener of our lives. You see what is healthy and life-giving, and You see what no longer belongs. Lord, when You uproot what is not holy, not healthy, or not of You, help me TRUST—even when the process feels painful or confusing. THANK YOU for the grace to release what You are removing and the courage to let go of false foundations, unhealthy attachments, and old patterns that have kept me bound. Where there has been shaking, bring peace. Where there has been loss, bring hope. Where there has been death to the old, breathe resurrection life. Align me with Your righteous plumb line. Plant me firmly in truth, healing, and wholeness. Let my life bear fruit that remains—fruit of freedom, love, joy, and unwavering faith. I choose to trust that Your uprooting is an act of radical love and that You are preparing something new, good, and lasting. I surrender fully to Your hands, Lord, and I receive Your restoration with an open heart.
In Jesus’ mighty and loving name,
Amen. 🙏✨
