12 THINGS THAT SUPPORT WOMEN HEALING

🌿 12 Ways to Help Women Move from Oppression
to FULLY EXPRESSED TRUE Identity in Christ

Are you someone who supports women heal? I have made a list of 12 things you can do to help other women who are healing and recovering, growing and rising into wholeness and purpose after abuse. I pray this list may help you, if you are called to support others as well. These are the things that I do - with the guidance of the Holy Spirit - to support women.

Create Safe and Judgment-Free Spaces

  • Foster environments (online or in-person) where women feel emotionally, spiritually, and physically safe to share.

  • Let them speak without fear of correction, shame, or being misunderstood.

  • Make safety your first ministry—because healing cannot happen without it.

Listen Deeply and Compassionately

  • Listen to their stories with full attention, patience, and no interruptions.

  • Don’t rush to “fix” or “reframe”—just hear them.

  • Let your presence be a reflection of Christ’s gentleness and nearness.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

Affirm Their Worth with Scripture

  • Regularly speak life-giving truths from God’s Word into their identity:

    • “You are God’s masterpiece.” (Ephesians 2:10)

    • “You are chosen, royal, and dearly loved.” (1 Peter 2:9, Colossians 3:12)

  • Remind them: abuse may have distorted their self-image, but it did not destroy their God-given identity.

Expose the Lies of Abuse with Truth

  • Gently and boldly name the lies that abuse and bullying have planted:

    • “You’re too much.”

    • “You’re not enough.”

    • “It’s your fault.”

  • Counter each lie with specific truth from God’s Word and affirm the truth of who they are in Christ.

Introduce Trauma-Informed Inner Healing & Deliverance

  • Teach or guide them through biblically aligned healing and deliverance:

    • Inner healing & Deliverance

    • Journaling with the Holy Spirit / Talking with the Holy Spirit

    • Scripture-based affirmations

    • Somatic calming techniques with prayer

  • Encourage healing at the pace of grace, without shame.

Help Them Rebuild a Relationship with Their Voice

  • Encourage them to start writing, praying out loud, singing, or journaling.

  • Offer opportunities for them to share their stories in safe ways—spoken or written.

  • Celebrate each moment they speak up, cry out, or express themselves.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” – Proverbs 31:26

Break Off Spiritual Oppression through Prayer and Deliverance

  • Pray boldly over them, breaking the spirit of fear, shame, silencing, and trauma.

  • Teach them their spiritual authority in Christ (Luke 10:19).

  • Offer or recommend deliverance ministries if led by the Holy Spirit and done with discernment and care.

Mentor Them into Identity and Authority

  • Walk with them through Scripture that speaks to who they are now in Christ:

    • New creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)

    • Seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6)

    • Clothed in strength and dignity (Proverbs 31:25)

  • Give them leadership opportunities as they grow—whether in a small group, a prayer circle, or simply helping another woman take her next step.

Model Healthy Relationships and Boundaries

  • Demonstrate Christ-like love with truth and clarity.

  • Show what it looks like to relate with kindness, firmness, mutual respect, and Holy Spirit guidance.

  • Teach them that boundaries are holy, loving, and necessary.

Teach Spiritual Discernment and Soul Care

  • Help them recognize the difference between the enemy’s voice and the Lord’s voice.

  • Equip them with practices to guard their hearts and minds (Philippians 4:6-8).

  • Encourage daily communion with the Holy Spirit, listening prayer, and rest in God’s presence.

Encourage Rest, Joy, and Holy Reconnection with the Body

  • Teach that healing isn’t just about processing trauma—it’s about reclaiming joy, beauty, rest, laughter, and embodiment as worship.

  • Invite dance, movement, nature walks, art, or worship as expressions of the Spirit moving in their healed life.

Call Them Forward into Purpose

  • Speak prophetically into their calling and gifts.

  • Help them dream again, build again, rise again.

  • Let them know: “You were born for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).

  • Equip them to not only heal but to lead others into healing too.

🙏 Final Thought & Prayer for Your Role

You are a vessel of God’s love and truth. Every act of compassion you extend, every truth you speak, and every ounce of safety you offer can be the very thing that opens the door to a woman’s healing and wholeness in Christ.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted…” – Isaiah 61:1
