BOLDLY STEP INTO GODS FREEDOM

Stepping Boldly Into God’s Freedom

Have you ever noticed
how freedom can sometimes feel harder than the bondage you’ve left behind?

When God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt, they found themselves tempted to run back to slavery whenever things got difficult. In Exodus 14:10–12, as Pharaoh’s army drew near and fear rose up in them, they cried out, “It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”

Why would they say that? Because freedom requires trust, growth, and courage. Slavery—whether to sin, trauma, generational patterns, or unhealthy relationships—may feel “easier” because it’s familiar. Freedom stretches us. It calls us to step into the unknown and lean on God fully.

That same struggle shows up in our own lives today:

  • “It feels safer to stay small than to risk stepping into my calling.”

  • “It’s easier to hold on to a poverty mindset because that’s what I’ve always known.”

  • “It feels less painful to repeat old, destructive patterns than to walk the unfamiliar road of healing and growth.”

But here’s the truth: God never calls you out of slavery to send you back.

When He delivered you from brokenness, fear, sin and shame or cycles of dysfunction, it wasn’t so you would turn around and live there again. He has called you to healing, wholeness, and victory in Christ Jesus.

Freedom may feel costly at first. It may mean letting go of people-pleasing, facing hard truths, or breaking ties with generational strongholds. But freedom is worth fighting for, because it’s the very place where you discover who you are in Christ—the woman God predestined you to be.

So let this be your declaration:
“I refuse to settle for slavery when God has called me to freedom. I will rise. I will heal. I will walk boldly into the life He has prepared for me. I will fight to become the woman He created me to be.”

Reflective Questions

  1. What “Egypt” in your past still tries to pull you back when the journey feels hard?

  2. In what ways has God already shown you His power and faithfulness, even when you felt afraid?

  3. What old mindsets, habits, or patterns is He asking you to release so you can fully embrace His freedom?

  4. How can you practically remind yourself each day that God has called you forward, not backward?

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,
I thank You that You have called me out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Forgive me for the times I have looked back longingly at what You already set me free from. Give me courage to keep walking forward, even when freedom feels costly or uncertain. Strengthen me to stand firm in the truth of who I am in Christ Jesus—chosen, redeemed, and victorious. I refuse to return to old bondage, because I know You have called me into wholeness, healing, and purpose. Lord, I trust You with my journey. Lead me into the fullness of the woman You created me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
